Nottingham Green Festival 2024
The annual Nottingham Green Festival took place on Sunday 8th September in the Arboretum, for the 31st year in a row!
It's an event which showcases all of the environmental and social justice groups in the city, aiming to inspire action to protect the planet.
Representatives from the Carbon Neutral 2028 initiative attended in order to encourage the public to get involved, and spread the message about the campaign. People could also have a go on the 'energy bike' to see how much power they could generate by pedalling. It turns out that generating enough electricity to power a TV is hard work! 📺⚡
There was plenty of music, entertainment, and activities to get involved in, including a pedal powered mobile cinema from the Mammoth Climate Action Cinema 🚲🎥
The Knowledge Garden area also hosted workshops and talks, where people could learn about eco-friendly living, the science of sustainability, and get involved in the Nottingham Climate Assembly.
Attendees could also find out more about energy efficiency at home with Nottingham Energy Partnership, get your bike serviced with Nottingham Bikeworks, and learn about local cycle routes with Sustrans.
